According to Crypto.News, zkSync has announced plans to deprecate zkSync Lite, also known as zkSync 1.0, in 2026. The team described the move as a planned and orderly shutdown of the original ZK-rollup, which launched in 2020. Users are advised that funds remain safe and a migration guide will be released next year to assist the transition to zkSync Era or other ZK Stack-based chains. Around $50 million in assets are currently bridged to zkSync Lite, and withdrawals to Ethereum remain functional. The ecosystem is focusing on next-generation ZK infrastructure, including the ZK Stack and cross-chain upgrades.
