According to ZKsync’s official X account (@zksync), ZKsync has announced a security upgrade for its EraVM chain, with key measures including: the introduction of an instant upgrade framework, extending the execution delay from 3 hours to 24 hours, and developing a second prover, EraBender, to defend against AI-driven vulnerability attacks. Over the next six months, all Boojum/EraVM chains will phase out their legacy execution environments, with each chain independently setting and publishing its own transition schedule. Users holding funds directly via EOA do not need to take any action; users holding funds through smart contracts—such as multisigs, smart accounts, DEXs, or lending protocols—must take the required actions after each chain publishes its transition plan. The ZKsync Atlas chain is unaffected by this upgrade.

ZKsync announces a network upgrade for its EraVM chain, introducing an instant upgrade framework and extending the execution delay from 3 hours to 24 hours. The project also develops a second prover, EraBender, to counter AI-based attacks. Over six months, all Boojum/EraVM chains will transition to the new execution environment, with individual migration schedules. Users with EOA wallets are unaffected, but multisig, smart account, DEX, and lending users must follow the designated transition plans. The ZKsync Atlas chain remains unchanged.
