On September 29, PANews reported that, according to CoinDesk, Zcash developers have released and integrated a new component called Udon—derived from Project Tachyon—into Zakura Common, accelerating network scalability and privacy payment performance improvements. Zakura Common is a shared cryptographic library used to generate and verify Zcash private transactions; previous optimizations reduced the time to create a single private transaction from over 3 seconds to approximately 200 milliseconds. Udon moves some computations from Tachyon’s proposed scalability solution into Zakura Common, laying the groundwork for combining multiple payments within a single proof and reducing data load per node.
Zcash Integrates Udon Component to Accelerate Privacy Payment Performance

Zcash has integrated the Udon component from Project Tachyon into Zakura Common, enhancing private chain scalability and payment performance. Zakura Common manages Zcash private transactions, with previous upgrades reducing verification time to 200 milliseconds. Udon incorporates part of Tachyon’s scalability logic into Common, enabling batched payments and reducing node data loads. This update aims to mitigate the risk of private key compromise by streamlining cryptographic processes.
