BlockBeats news, on September 9, according to U.S. media, Indonesia’s AI infrastructure platform Zankore signed a $3.1 billion loan agreement on Wednesday, backed by NVIDIA, to purchase advanced chips, highlighting the surging demand for computing power in Asia.
According to Zankore’s statement, Citigroup, ING, Natixis, Qatar National Bank, and United Overseas Bank underwrote the loan, one of Asia’s largest AI infrastructure financings. Citigroup served as the sole debt advisor for the transaction.
GPU financing is becoming the next frontier for AI lenders, as banks and private credit firms are moving beyond data centers to focus on the hardware that powers them. In Asia, bank-led deals have been scarce due to uncertainty over chip residual values and geopolitical risks stemming from U.S.-China technological competition.
