ChainCatcher report: On October 19, the Zama team, a fully homomorphic encryption company, announced that users who participated in the Merkl incentive distribution campaign on Zama’s Confidential Vault can now claim their cZAMA rewards directly within the Zama app. Rewards are settled via confidential transfers, with both position and reward amounts kept private from deposit to disbursement. In September 2026, Zama launched confidential access to 16 curated vaults on the lending protocol Morpho and initiated its first confidential incentives with Merkl, where rewards are calculated based on encrypted balances. When depositing into eligible vaults, users can enable an additional incentive option by granting Merkl viewing permissions to read encrypted balances for reward calculation, without exposing personal positions. This permission is enabled by default on the deposit interface; deposits not shared with Merkl are ineligible for incentives. Confidential vault rewards accumulate based on the user’s share of the confidential vault and can be claimed during the campaign. For existing public vaults with confidential access, rewards are collectively claimed by the vault wrapper contract and distributed after the campaign ends. Zama recommends claiming rewards only after the campaign concludes to minimize multiple on-chain transaction fees. For example, on Morpho, the Flowdesk Confidential High Yield USDT vault’s related campaign ended on October 12, and eligible depositors can now claim their rewards. Users must view their earnings on Merkl using their wallet and complete the claim within the Zama app by connecting the same wallet; the claimed amount will not be publicly visible on-chain.
