As reported by Forklog, on-chain detective ZachXBT claimed that a suspect allegedly involved in the $243 million theft from one of Genesis' creditors has reportedly been arrested. He identified the suspect as British cybercriminal Danny / Meech, also known as Daniyal Zulfikar (Hann), and noted that his crypto assets have been frozen. ZachXBT cited an Ethereum address with around $18.58 million in frozen cryptocurrency as evidence, which he claims belongs to the suspect. He also mentioned that several addresses linked to Zulfikar had transferred funds to this wallet in a pattern typical of law enforcement seizures. Zulfikar is believed to have last been in Dubai, where a raid reportedly took place at his villa. Other suspects are also allegedly detained, with ZachXBT citing the fact that several of the hacker’s contacts have gone offline in recent days. No official statements have been released by Dubai police or UAE regulators at the time of publication.
