YouTube has launched a new payment feature for U.S. creators, allowing them to receive payments in PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin. PayPal’s head of cryptocurrency, May Zabaneh, confirmed the rollout, which is limited to U.S. users. The feature follows PayPal’s expansion of PYUSD in early Q3 2025. As a current PayPal client for contractor payments, YouTube now uses the stablecoin to simplify transactions for creators. Zabaneh said the move lets YouTube avoid direct involvement in cryptocurrency. What is PYUSD? It’s a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin offered by PayPal.
