Derived from Cointribune, Yearn Finance recovered $2.4 million in an unprecedented rescue mission following a hack on November 30. The attack exploited an unchecked arithmetic bug, allowing the minting of 2.3544×10^56 yETH and draining nearly $9 million from two DeFi pools. A coalition including Plume Network, Dinero, SEAL911, and ChainSecurity traced and recovered 857.49 pxETH. The targeted contract was isolated and did not affect Yearn Finance’s V2 or V3 vaults. The hacker used self-destructing contracts and Tornado Cash to mask transactions.
