ChainCatcher report, according to CryptoBriefing, Xverse Bitcoin wallet has launched a partnered Bitcoin staking service, allowing users to pair sBTC with STX tokens to participate in Stacks PoX-5 lock-up cycles. During staking, Bitcoin remains on the Bitcoin mainnet and is fully controlled by the user, without requiring cross-chain transfers or wrapping. This feature requires upgrading to Xverse wallet version 2.9. Registration will close on September 9 or when capacity is reached. Staking rewards are expected to begin distribution on September 10 (Bitcoin block 966350, corresponding to Stacks cycle 143). Institutional participants including UTXO (a subsidiary of Nakamoto Inc.), HashKey Cloud, and 21shares have joined as anchoring parties. Previously, Xverse had managed approximately 152 million STX in non-custodial staking.
