XRP Price Rises 3.5% Amid Ripple's RLUSD Pilot With Mastercard, Gemini, and WebBank

According to Insidebitcoins, the XRP price increased 3.5% in the past 24 hours to $2.32, despite a 39% drop in trading volume to $5.5 billion. Ripple announced a pilot project with Mastercard, WebBank, and Gemini to use its stablecoin RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for fiat card payments. The initiative, unveiled at the Swell 2025 event, aims to modernize credit card transactions using blockchain technology. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also confirmed a $500 million funding round led by Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities, valuing the company at $40 billion.
