Market confidence in XRP rose as the token gained 35% in August, closing near $1.41. The cryptocurrency market is watching the September 15 CLARITY Act vote, which could impact regulatory clarity. Institutional demand grew, with spot ETFs pulling in $127.34 million. The XRP Ledger now exceeds five billion transactions, and developers are auditing the XRPL Lending Protocol version 1.1.

In Brief:

  • XRP closed August with a 35% gain, strengthening its third-quarter recovery and raising expectations for profitable monthly performance during September.
  • The September 15 CLARITY Act vote could influence XRP’s direction by reducing regulatory uncertainty or weakening market confidence among investors.
  • XRP ETFs drew $127.34 million in August, while XRPL surpassed five billion transactions and launched its lending protocol security audit.

XRP closed August with a 35% gain, strengthening expectations that its four-year run of September performances could reach five. The cryptocurrency traded near $1.41, while quarterly returns restored confidence following heavy losses during the opening half of 2026.

According to Coingecko data shows XRP gained 46.2%, 0.42%, 7.98%, and 2.49% during the previous four Septembers, establishing a seasonal pattern. Moreover, XRP has produced a median September return of 0.42%, although historical results cannot guarantee another favorable monthly close.

August’s advance lifted XRP’s third-quarter return to 37%, comfortably exceeding the token’s historical quarterly median return of 27.9%. That recovery contrasts strongly with declines of 27.1% during the first quarter and 22.4% throughout the second quarter.

September 15 CLARITY Act Vote Could Shape XRP’s Direction

Investors are also monitoring the CLARITY Act because the Senate will hold a procedural vote on September 15. The cloture motion requires 60 votes and would allow lawmakers to advance debate on rules governing digital asset markets.

However, approval would not immediately make the proposal law because the Senate must complete several legislative stages. Lawmakers must approve the full legislation, resolve differences with the House version, and send the measure to President Donald Trump.

The proposal would clarify responsibilities between the SEC and CFTC, potentially reducing uncertainty surrounding XRP and digital assets. Consequently, successful progress could support market confidence, while rejection may weaken the momentum established through XRP’s August recovery.

Institutional demand provides another supportive element, with spot XRP exchange-traded funds attracting $127.34 million in net inflows during August. Those products have accumulated approximately $1.64 billion in total net inflows, while their combined net assets reached nearly $1.49 billion.

Additionally, the XRP Ledger surpassed five billion transactions, highlighting substantial network usage during a period of improving cryptocurrency market sentiment. Developers also launched a security audit for XRPL Lending Protocol version 1.1 before expanding its implementation across the broader ecosystem.

XRP enters September with stronger price performance, sustained institutional inflows, regulatory expectations, and measurable development across its underlying network. A positive September close would extend its seasonal streak, although legislation, ETF demand, and market conditions will determine the outcome.
