The X API now restricts programmatic replies via POST /2/tweets. Users may only reply when the original author @mentions or quotes the post; non-reply tweets will remain unchanged.


This restriction applies to the Free, Basic, Professional, and Pay-as-you-go plans; the Enterprise and Public Sector plans are unaffected.
