BlockBeats report: On August 8, X (formerly Twitter) announced the launch of the "Original Content Rewards Program," designed to reward creators who provide original insights, professional analysis, news reporting, creative content, and commentary.
X announced that, effective immediately, it will no longer accept new Revenue Sharing applications. Existing Revenue Sharing participants will continue to receive payouts until September 7, 2026, and will receive their final three payments around August 14, August 28, and September 11.
Starting September 8, eligible existing creators can apply to join the new Original Content Rewards program. The new program will distribute earnings based on “effective impressions” generated by original content—defined as views from the X Premium user homepage feed where the post is at least 50% visible. The first payments under the new program are expected to be issued on August 28.
Eligibility requirements include: being at least 18 years old, having a good account status, subscribing to X Premium or Premium+, having at least 500 verified followers, and receiving at least 500,000 verified user homepage feed impressions over the past 90 days, along with consistent posting of original content.
X emphasizes that the new program prioritizes rewards for original writing, threads, reporting, analysis, videos, images, design works, and comments with unique value. Simple reposts, content copied from other platforms, secondary posts lacking substantive analysis, and content generated using automated tools to create engagement will not be eligible for rewards.
X stated that it will prioritize supporting creators who bring unique perspectives, expertise, and creativity to the platform.
