X is rolling out Smart Cashtags to increase the visibility of digital asset news on the platform. These smart asset tags will display real-time prices and contract mentions when users post market-related content. The feature is scheduled for public release next month following testing. Nikita Bier, X's product lead and Solana advisor, announced the update on January 11, 2026. Real-world asset (RWA) news is gaining momentum as platforms integrate more advanced cryptocurrency tools. Bier joined X in mid-2025 to lead product development.

BlockBeats news: On January 11, Nikita Bier, X's product lead and Solana ecosystem advisor, stated that X is the best source for financial news and is currently developing "Smart Cashtags" tags. These tags will allow users to specify particular assets (or smart contracts) when posting market-related updates on X. Users will be able to click on these tags in their timelines to view the real-time price of the asset and all information mentioning it. The feature is expected to undergo continuous iteration and feedback collection before a public launch next month.

Previously, Solana ecosystem advisor Nikita Bier joined X as a product lead in the middle of 2025.
