ChainThink reports that on July 24, according to official announcements, the World Foundation, the nonprofit organization behind the World protocol, completed a strategic sale of 52.5 million WLD tokens, with all sold tokens locked up for one year.
Led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, Susquehanna Crypto, and others.
The World Foundation states that the WLD tokens sold in this offering are intended solely for use within the World Network ecosystem and do not represent equity ownership in Tools for Humanity.
The funds raised will be used to promote World ID technology to enterprises, individual users, and AI agents.
World ID verifies that users are real humans through one-time Orb biometric authentication, without exposing their identity, and is currently integrated with platforms such as Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, and Tinder.
World has over 39 million registered users worldwide, with more than 18 million having completed Orb verification. Following the funding round, the total accumulated funding for the World project amounts to approximately $492.5 million.
WLD is currently trading at approximately $0.37, with a market capitalization of about $1.31 billion.
