Wintermute Asia has launched an OTC CFD service for WTI crude oil, offering 24/7 trading with zero fees and margin trading in fiat or crypto. Customizable contracts enable traders to adjust contract sizes and terms to support support and resistance strategies. Wintermute acts as the counterparty, not a matchmaker. CEO Evgeny Gaevoy cited tensions in the Middle East as a key driver, with traditional markets closed.

According to CoinDesk, Wintermute Asia, the derivatives division of cryptocurrency market maker Wintermute, has officially launched an over-the-counter (OTC) trading service for WTI crude oil CFDs, offering 24/7 trading with zero transaction fees. Unlike standardized perpetual contracts offered by exchanges such as Hyperliquid, CFDs are OTC derivatives that can be customized in terms of contract size, duration, and margin requirements to meet the personalized risk management needs of institutional and professional traders. Traders can execute contracts via instant messaging, Wintermute’s electronic OTC platform, or API, and may use either fiat currency or crypto assets as margin. Notably, Wintermute acts directly as the counterparty in these trades, assuming market risk rather than matching buyers and sellers. Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy stated that ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East leave traders unable to adjust positions during traditional financial market closures, and the launch of crude oil CFDs is designed to address this urgent need.
