According to ME News, on September 7 (UTC+8), Alex Thorn, Research Lead at Galaxy, posted that the "white hat" hacker behind the Liquid Network exploit has communicated with Blockstream via on-chain OP_RETURN messages and PGP-encrypted text, stating that most of the BTC will be returned after the vulnerability is patched. Blockstream initiated contact, and the hacker replied, “Would it be acceptable to return most of the funds to a Blockstream address?” followed by a clear demand: “First, fix the vulnerability. Ensure all nodes have applied the patch. Confirm the fix is complete, and the funds will be safely returned.” Additionally, the attacker sent Blockstream encrypted technical information via PGP, readable only by their team.
