ChainCatcher report: On October 22, at the 2026 World Physics AI Conference & Unitree Partner Ecosystem Event, Unitree Technology founder Wang Xingxing said, “I’m truly terrified of wasting any day,” demonstrating a strong sense of urgency regarding the imminent arrival of physical AI. Wang believes that top-tier AI models have already broken through the mathematical realm, and signs of a similar breakthrough in physical AI are already emerging—likely within the next one to two years, or two to three years. Live demonstrations showed that Unitree robots equipped with GPT-6 could perform tasks such as drawing, playing chess, and identifying color palettes without additional training, indicating the model’s ability to solve certain planning problems. He expects that by the end of this year or next year, robots will be able to carry out commands like tidying up a room. In response to this critical time window, Unitree Technology has officially launched the “Yuchuang Initiative,” opening recruitment to entrepreneurs in embodied AI who possess core technologies, with a plan to incubate over 200 ecosystem companies within the next five years. Wang also emphasized that once physical AI reaches its tipping point, robot hardware production must scale to tens of millions of units annually, highlighting the critical importance of data, computing power, chips, and energy.
