Odaily Planet Daily reports: Vitalik posted on X that Minimax H3 is the first open video model he has seen that outperforms HunyuanVideo 1.5, noting that Tencent Hunyuan’s ability to maintain a long-term lead is itself an impressive achievement. He added that previously, cutting-edge image and video models seemed more closed than leading text LLMs, and H3 represents a strong step back toward openness. He also mentioned that the related content was generated on his AMD laptop in approximately 30 minutes.
Vitalik also noted that Signal is developing a feature to register accounts without a phone number, which he welcomed, highlighting three key benefits: reducing dependence on a highly oligopolistic phone number system, lowering the risk of SIM swapping, and preventing governments from blocking domestic users via phone numbers. He further argued that by 2026, "pseudonymity" (long-term persistent accounts decoupled from real identities) is effectively a "dead concept"—behavioral patterns such as message timing, contact frequency, and message size, combined with AI’s powerful analytical capabilities, create too many identification pathways to truly evade.
