ChainThink reports that on August 5, according to The Block, Visa announced a partnership with on-chain infrastructure provider Zerohash to introduce stablecoin functionality on the Visa Direct platform.

Eligible customers will be able to preload their merchant accounts with stablecoins and use stablecoins for fund transfers and payments.

Visa Direct currently connects over 195 countries and regions worldwide, with more than 18 billion endpoints covering debit and credit cards, bank accounts, and digital wallets. Zerohash will provide the underlying technology and compliance support for this integration.

The company previously obtained authorization under the European Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) framework and holds an electronic money institution license.
