In accordance with Biji.com, Virtuals Protocol core contributor EtherMage announced that affected users will receive full compensation without needing to withdraw funds, with Virtuals' treasury covering the shortfall. The team is assisting Basis in completing security upgrades during the fund return process. The incident originated from an issue with a 'buffer' wallet used when Basis interacted with the zyfai vault. Other Basis mechanisms and the ACP mechanism were unaffected. Previously, BasisOS reported that its on-chain asset management AI agent, Agentic FoF, was breached due to a security vulnerability, resulting in a $531,000 leak. All vaults and Agentic FoF withdrawals are currently paused pending an internal investigation. Basis vaults remain secure, though operations have been suspended as a precaution; withdrawals are still functional.
