Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 20 — Global leading cryptocurrency mining pool ViaBTC supported a Bitcoin education event on the campus of the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) on October 19. Organized by the local nonprofit organization ONG Bitcoin Argentina, the morning session attracted approximately 140 students who learned about Bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency mining.
This event is part of the "Bitcoin in Universities" project, which offers free courses to university communities across Argentina. Previous sessions have been held at multiple institutions, including the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the Catholic University of Córdoba (UCC). UADE is the second-to-last stop in this series, with the final two events scheduled at the University of Belgrano (UB).

ViaBTC stated that by supporting this project, the company aims to provide students new to Bitcoin and blockchain technology with practical industry knowledge.
Introduce Bitcoin and blockchain through familiar concepts.
The course begins with an illustrated overview that traces the evolution of money and connects everyday payment methods to Bitcoin. The instructor then introduces key features of Bitcoin and foundational blockchain concepts, providing students with a solid starting point for understanding the technology.
Other content included cryptocurrency exchanges and mining hardware. On-site demonstrations showcased on-chain data, illustrating how anyone can query blockchain records to bring classroom concepts to life.
Students were highly engaged, continuously asking questions and interacting with the instructor throughout the course.
Make infrastructure knowledge more accessible
The mining topics covered in the UADE course are directly related to ViaBTC’s experience in operating infrastructure for Bitcoin and other proof-of-work (PoW) networks. Over the past decade, the company’s team has gained extensive expertise in blockchain protocols and distributed systems through activities such as node deployment, protocol integration, block propagation, and ongoing maintenance. These capabilities form the foundation of the company’s mining services.
For students, this operational perspective provides context for the hardware and network data introduced in class, helping to explain how computing power, software, and nodes work together, and what is required to maintain the stability of blockchain infrastructure. Collaborating with local educators also enables ViaBTC to adapt this knowledge into versions suitable for learners without a technical background.
Establish ongoing educational partnerships
The UADE event continues the collaborations that have taken place across campuses in Argentina over the past several months. ViaBTC incorporated its university initiative into its 10th-anniversary activities earlier this year and continues to provide support as the program expands to additional campuses. In addition to serving miners in Latin America, the company engages in local education by sharing technical expertise and supporting educators.
Free courses provide an entry point for students with limited prior exposure, while Spanish-language resources enable them to continue learning at their own pace. ViaBTC states that, through this partnership, they aim to help students understand the technology, assess its risks, and build a foundation for further independent learning.
Next stop: UB
The next stop for this project is the University of Belgrano (UB), where two in-person classes will be held on October 27 and November 2. Both sessions will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM local time and are open to the public.
The course will be held at Auditorio Roca, basement level 1, Zabala 1837, Buenos Aires. For more details and to register, visit the event page.
