UXLINK Security Incident: Over $11 Million in Assets Stolen via Deepfake Attack

In accordance with Bpaynews, the UXLINK security incident on September 22, 2025, resulted in the theft of over $11 million in assets. Attackers used deepfake video conferencing to impersonate business partners and infiltrate key holders’ devices, gaining control of the old arb-UXLINK smart contract and enabling unauthorized token issuance and transfers. UXLINK has reported the incident to law enforcement, recovered some assets with exchange partners, and is working to restore 479 million tokens. The company emphasized transparency, denied internal negligence, and plans to reimburse affected users through token unlocking based on governance voting.
