U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $148.7 million in net outflows on Wednesday, ending a nine-day streak of $3.1 billion in net inflows, according to data compiled by The Block. BlackRock’s IBIT ended its own nine-day, $1.6 billion inflow streak with $9.5 million in net outflows. Fidelity’s FBTC led Wednesday’s outflows with $125.6 million, followed by Bitwise’s BITB with $13.6 million. The remaining funds registered zero flows. The nine-day streak brought the Bitcoin funds’ cumulative flows back into positive territory for 2026. Before Wednesday’s figures, Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said the funds’ lifetime cumulative flows were getting close to a new high. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart noted that the funds remained about $5 billion below their cumulative flow peak of October 10 last year. The Bitcoin funds have generated over $57 billion in cumulative net inflows since their January 2024 debut, according to The Block’s Bitcoin ETF Tracker. The tracker puts their year-to-date net inflows at $970 million and their assets under management at over $100 billion. Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin ETF, launched in April this year, exceeded 10,000 BTC in assets under management for the first time last week, according to its MSBT fund page. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $59.6 million in net outflows on Wednesday, led by $26.6 million leaving Fidelity’s FETH. The Ethereum funds’ net outflow streak reached two days after a seven-day, $850 million inflow streak. The Ethereum funds have received around $14 billion in total net inflows since their July 2024 launch. Bitcoin fluctuated around $84,000 on Wednesday as a softer-than-expected reading of the Federal Reserve’s preferred PCE inflation gauge reduced expectations for an October interest rate hike. Brendan Ma, head of investment strategy at the Arbitrum Foundation, welcomed a 0.2% monthly rise in core PCE prices and said a similar September CPI reading would ease pressure for an October hike. Bitcoin closed September up 6.4% and was trading around $83,950 on Thursday, according to The Block’s Bitcoin price page.
