BlockBeats news, on August 5, the United States reported that private-sector employment increased by 44,000 in July, below the expected 70,000 and down from the revised prior value of 98,000. According to the ADP report, seasonally adjusted non-farm private employment growth for July was 44,000, below the revised 95,000 in June and also below the market expectation of 75,000.
Overall, all growth came from the services sector, which added 47,000 jobs, while goods-producing industries lost 3,000 jobs. Within these, education and health services created 36,000 positions, continuing their long-standing trend of leading job growth. Financial activities added 10,000 jobs, professional and business services contributed 9,000 jobs, and other services saw an increase of 6,000 positions.
Nela Richardson, Chief Economist at ADP, said: "Job seekers are highly sensitive to real-time economic conditions; the rapid growth in wages indicates supply constraints in certain segments of the labor market. Meanwhile, typical hiring patterns are also changing as employers respond to evolving macroeconomic conditions."
