The U.S. FBI, with European partners, has taken down E-Note, a crypto money laundering platform linked to over $70 million in illicit transactions since 2017. The DOJ charged 39-year-old Russian operator Mykhalio Petrovich Chudnovets with money laundering conspiracy. E-Note allegedly helped cybercriminals convert cryptocurrency into cash. Authorities have seized servers and domains tied to the operation. If convicted, the suspect could face up to 20 years in prison.
