A joint statement released on August 4 indicated that U.S. officials provided updates to their U.K. counterparts on the progress of implementing the GENIUS Act and related work on digital asset market structure. Participants also discussed payment modernization and the G20 cross-border payment roadmap, which aims to improve cross-border payments. No new policy measures were adopted at the meeting. Both sides stated they will coordinate regulation in key areas of the digital asset industry and support responsible digital asset innovation within frameworks for financial stability and international regulatory cooperation.
