On July 22, 2026, Upbit added Zilliqa (ZIL) to its 'Trading Watch' list due to potential security concerns regarding ZIL’s wallet or ledger. This action aligns with South Korea’s Virtual Asset User Protection Act. The trading pairs ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC are currently under review until August 17–21. During this watch period, Upbit may extend the review, lift the warning, or cease trading support. ZIL deposits are suspended, and new deposits will be rejected. Withdrawals may resume, but the restoration of deposit functionality depends on future updates regarding digital assets.

Huo Xing Finance reports that on July 22, South Korean crypto exchange Upbit announced that Zilliqa (ZIL) has been added to its "Trading Caution" asset list, affecting the trading pairs ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC. Upbit stated that, in accordance with relevant provisions of South Korea’s Virtual Asset User Protection Act, the platform identified potential security risks—such as unreported or unpatched cyberattacks—associated with ZIL wallets or the distributed ledger underlying its issuance, transmission, and storage, which could result in user losses. As a result, Upbit has decided to implement a risk warning. The trading caution period for ZIL is set from July 22, 2026, to the third week of August (August 17–21). During this review period, Upbit will assess the associated risks under its trading support termination policy and may decide to extend the observation period, lift the warning, or terminate trading support. Additionally, ZIL deposit and withdrawal services have already been suspended. Upbit stated that if services are restored in the future, withdrawal functionality will be prioritized; whether deposit services will resume will be determined based on further review results and communicated separately. Currently, new deposits will not be credited, and related deposit transactions will be refunded.
