Upbit has added Zilliqa (ZIL) to its 'Trading Watch' list, affecting the ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC trading pairs. This action follows concerns regarding potential security risks associated with ZIL’s wallet and ledger under South Korea’s Virtual Asset User Protection Act. The watch period runs from July 22 to August 17–21, 2026. During this time, ZIL deposits and withdrawals are suspended, with new deposits automatically refunded. Withdrawals may resume first, while the resumption of deposits is subject to further review. This decision could impact other altcoins under surveillance and overall trading volume.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: South Korean crypto exchange Upbit has announced that the Zilliqa token ZIL has been added to its “Trading Caution” asset list, affecting the ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC trading pairs. Upbit stated that, in accordance with relevant provisions of South Korea’s Virtual Asset User Protection Act, the platform has identified potential security risks—such as undiscovered or unpatched cyberattacks—associated with ZIL wallets or the distributed ledger on which its issuance, transmission, and storage depend, which may result in user losses. As a result, Upbit has implemented a risk warning. The trading caution period for ZIL is from July 22, 2026, to the third week of August, specifically August 17–21. During this review period, Upbit will assess the associated risks under its trading support termination policy and may extend the observation period, lift the warning, or terminate trading support. Previously, ZIL deposit and withdrawal services have been suspended. Upbit stated that if services are restored in the future, withdrawal functionality will be prioritized; whether deposit services will resume will be determined based on subsequent review results and announced separately. Currently, new deposits will not be credited, and related deposit transactions will be refunded.
