As of July 2026, the total cumulative production of all biomimetic bipedal humanoid robots under the company’s portfolio reached 18,000 units.
We need to clarify the statistical criteria first to avoid any confusion. The 18,000 units from Unitree include only fully assembled bipedal humanoid robots capable of walking upright on two legs. Wheeled chassis robots, quadrupedal robot dogs, and individual robotic arms are not included. The statistical standard is strictly focused on the core segment of bipedal humanoids.

Unitree's production ramp-up
Many people wonder how 18,000 units weren’t built overnight—by breaking down Unitree’s annual shipment data over the years, you can clearly understand its growth pattern.
In 2025, a total of 6,500 unitree bipedal humanoid robots were produced.

At the hardware level, Unitree has been relentlessly focused on motion control since its founding, designing and manufacturing all core components of humanoid robots—including servo motors, drivers, and reducers—in-house, eliminating reliance on external suppliers. This approach not only reduces overall production costs but also ensures full control over supply timelines, preventing the awkward situation of having orders come in while critical components are unavailable.
At the product level, the H1 and G1 bipedal humanoid robots are strategically positioned as a high-low combination. The H1 targets industrial clients for applications such as factory material handling and inspection, with stable bulk orders. The G1 is designed as a general-purpose humanoid, serving a broader customer base including commercial service providers and research institutions. Both products are ramping up production in parallel to consistently utilize the manufacturing line’s capacity.
At the manufacturing level, Unitree has built a flexible, dedicated production line tailored for bipedal robots, optimizing processes for whole-humanoid assembly and calibration. Youbi Xuan “started early but arrived late”
Among the four companies, UBTECH entered the humanoid robot field earliest and has high capital visibility, but its cumulative production has only reached 3,000 units, falling far behind Unitree—a result of long-term shortcomings in market positioning, technology, and orders combined.

Second, weak in-house capabilities for core components constrain supply chains and limit production capacity.
For humanoid robots to achieve mass production, independent control of core components is a prerequisite. Unitree's servo motors and high-power reducers are mostly sourced externally.
External procurement has two critical issues: first, costs are high—upstream component manufacturers raise prices, making the final product uncompetitive and reducing customer willingness to order; second, supply is unstable—upstream manufacturers have limited production capacity, and when multiple robotics companies simultaneously compete for parts, UBTECH cannot secure sufficient components, forcing production lines to operate at half capacity and making large-scale expansion impossible.

Galaxy General follows a lean and precise approach, not pursuing high-volume production but focusing on customized industrial humanoid robots tailored for specific factory scenarios. This model offers high profit per unit, but its drawbacks are clear: customized models cannot be standardized or mass-produced, resulting in long delivery cycles, limited order volumes, and cumulative production that struggles to exceed 10,000 units—making it difficult to catch up with the top two companies in the short term.
The trend of polarization in the industry is now irreversible. Unitree and Zhiyuan possess production capacities in the tens of thousands of units, with integrated advantages in technology, supply chains, and customer resources, enabling them to continuously capture the majority of market share. Companies like UBTECH and Galaxy General, with production capacities in the thousands, must address two key weaknesses—self-developed components and large-scale industrial orders—to catch up with the leaders, a process that will take at least two to three years.
