According to Britain’s Fortune magazine, Hargreaves Lansdown (HL), the UK’s largest investment platform, will open Crypto ETN trading to its approximately 2 million investors starting September 3. The initial lineup includes nine BTC and ETH ETNs issued by BlackRock’s iShares, WisdomTree, 21Shares, Invesco, CoinShares, and Bitwise, with annual fees ranging from 0% to 0.35%. HL had previously been the only major UK investment platform not offering Crypto ETNs and had stated in October last year that “BTC is not an asset class.” These products will be available to users of its Advanced Investing service, requiring investors to pass an appropriateness test and observe a 24-hour cooling-off period on their first trade.
