Odaily Planet Daily reports that Swiss bank UBS Group AG disclosed in its 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that, as of June 30, it held approximately 2.5 million shares of BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), with a holding value of about $90 million. By the end of 2025, UBS held approximately 549,000 shares of IBIT, valued at around $27 million; during the first half of 2026, the value of this position increased by approximately 230%. UBS’s total managed investment assets at year-end reached $7.3 trillion, with the IBIT holding accounting for less than 0.02% of its 13F-reported assets. The 13F filing discloses only certain U.S. securities managed under the company’s investment decision-making authority; the related shares primarily correspond to client assets held in wealth management, investment advisory, or asset management accounts and do not represent UBS investing $90 million of its own capital in Bitcoin.
