It functions like a super-classifier that understands natural language—not generating text, but returning options, scores, and probabilities specifically for software decision-making. While conventional large models generate output token by token, Jev can provide multiple results in parallel. TypeSafe also trained its confidence levels using a new method called RLCD, enabling the model to indicate its level of certainty alongside each judgment. TypeSafe tested Jev across four automated workflows: security alerts, agent reviews, invoice processing, and customer service. In their proprietary evaluation, Jev was up to 193.6 times faster than Claude Sonnet 5 and approximately 444.6 times cheaper than Claude Opus 5. TypeSafe refers to Jev as the first “System One Model,” named after System 1 from Kahneman’s Thinking, Fast and Slow.
