HuoXing Finance reports that on August 5, according to TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight), the Nasdaq futures contract XYZ100 on Hyperliquid is currently trading at $29,733, up approximately 3.2% from yesterday, with an open interest value of about $246 million. As XYZ100 continued to rise, two highly leveraged short positions were liquidated in three separate events, resulting in a total of 319.3 short contracts being forcibly closed, with a total traded value of approximately $9.398 million and combined losses of around $221,000. The whale starting with 0x0d was first liquidated for 80 XYZ100 short contracts, valued at approximately $2.318 million; after the index continued to rise this morning, its remaining 81.2 short contracts triggered another liquidation, valued at approximately $2.423 million. The whale starting with 0x3bc had 158.1 XYZ100 short contracts liquidated, with a traded value of approximately $4.657 million. After nearly $9.4 million in short positions were forcibly liquidated, both whales did not exit the market but instead re-established highly leveraged short positions: The 0x0d whale reopened a 59-contract short position on XYZ100 with 25x isolated leverage, worth approximately $1.754 million, at an average entry price of $29,728.3 and a liquidation price of $30,421.6. The 0x3bc whale reopened an 84.4-contract short position on XYZ100 with 30x isolated leverage, worth approximately $2.511 million, at an average entry price of $29,584.4 and a liquidation price of $31,003. The combined value of these two rebuilt short positions totals approximately $4.265 million. At the current price, the 0x0d whale’s new position has a liquidation line only about 2.3% above the current market price. Historical activity shows that the 0x0d whale is a high-leverage trader who frequently spreads short positions across multiple assets. Currently, all 10 of its U.S. stock index mapping positions are short; over the past day, in addition to two Nasdaq short liquidations, its shorts on SanDisk, S&P 500, and LITE also triggered forced liquidations. The 0x3bc whale tends to make macro-themed bets. In addition to its current $2.511 million Nasdaq short position, it holds approximately $12.548 million in S&P 500 shorts, is long approximately $3.777 million in WTI and Brent crude oil, and continues to short technology stocks such as SanDisk.
