Trump is expected to meet with executives from the crypto, prediction markets, and AI industries at the White House this week. The meeting comes just before the first meeting of the CFTC’s newly established Innovation Advisory Committee, as the market watches for policy signals from the White House and regulators.
The attendee list covers a variety of institutions.
The meeting is reportedly scheduled for Wednesday. Participants include Coinbase, Ripple, Gemini, Robinhood, Polymarket, and Kalshi, as well as executives from CME Group, Nasdaq, Intercontinental Exchange, and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).
Sources say CFTC Chair Mike Selig is expected to attend, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also potentially participating.
The CFTC holds its first meeting the next day.
Following a meeting at the White House, the CFTC will hold its first meeting of the Innovation Advisory Committee on Thursday. The public agenda shows that one of the opening discussion topics will be “The Evolution of Crypto Regulation: From Uncertainty to Clarity.”
This arrangement directly aligns with the White House meeting this week and the regulatory agenda. The crypto industry continues to await several policy developments, including exemptions related to tokenized stocks and the ongoing CLARITY bill in Congress.
Support posture ahead of policy implementation
The report notes that the Trump administration has recently continued to signal support for the industry, but progress on several key policies remains incomplete. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) previously delayed the "innovation exemption" for tokenized stocks, and the CLARITY Act remains pending in the Senate.
Under this context, the White House convened executives from multiple cryptocurrency and market infrastructure firms, interpreted by outsiders as continued support for the industry before policies are fully implemented.
