The U.S. Office of Government Ethics released Trump’s annual financial disclosure filings. The disclosures show that Trump earned over $1.2 billion from multiple cryptocurrency businesses in 2025 and reported holding more than $50 million in Bitcoin, as well as digital assets such as Ethereum valued between $5 million and $25 million.
TRUMP token revenue exceeds $635 million
Documents show that Trump reported personal income from his meme coin exceeding $635 million, almost entirely from royalty payments under an licensing agreement with Celebration Coins. The token, coded as TRUMP, launched on Solana in January 2025, just days before Trump’s return to the White House.
After Trump's launch, its market capitalization briefly rose to billions of dollars, but subsequently declined significantly. According to disclosed filings, the coin's current price is approximately $1.66, with a market capitalization of about $394 million—down roughly 98% from its all-time high of January 19, 2025.
World Liberty Financial received $588 million
The document also shows that Trump reported over $588 million in net income from World Liberty Financial, a project operated by the Trump family and their business partners, involving DeFi and stablecoins.
This means that, in addition to meme coin licensing revenue, token sales have become another major source of income for Trump’s crypto business, further publicizing the connection between his personal finances and the cryptocurrency industry.
Congress debate shifts to ethical limits
Trump's cryptocurrency business remains one of the key points of contention in the U.S. Congress. Some Democratic lawmakers oppose advancing the Clarity Act without additional ethical restrictions.
The bill has passed the House of Representatives but remains stalled in the Senate. Opponents argue that Congress should not directly move to legalize most cryptocurrency activities in the U.S. if the president and his family can still participate in crypto-related business activities.
