TokenWorks announced a protocol update, opening external purchases for Fake World Assets (FWA) on August 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM ET. Previously, FWA tokens were distributed exclusively to participants. Now, 50% of protocol fees will fund a buyback mechanism. Repurchased tokens will be allocated as follows: 70% to buyers, 10% to depositors, and 20% burned. Purchase fees have been reduced from 5% to 2.5%, and depositor bid ratios have increased to 90%. Parameters will be adjusted based on on-chain developments and protocol performance to ensure long-term sustainability.

Odaily Planet Daily report: TokenWorks posted on X that the initial distribution of Fake World Assets tokens has been completed, and external purchases will officially open on August 4 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

Previously, to prevent external funds from influencing the protocol's early development, Fake World Assets distributed tokens only to participants. TokenWorks stated that the 50% of future protocol fees originally allocated to TokenWorks will now be redirected to a buyback mechanism.

Under the new mechanism, the repurchased tokens will be allocated proportionally: 70% to buyers, 10% to depositors, and 20% burned. Additionally, the platform will reduce the purchase fee from 5% to 2.5% and increase the depositor bidding ratio from 85% to 90%.

TokenWorks stated that the relevant parameters will be continuously adjusted in the future based on the protocol's performance to drive the protocol toward long-term sustainable growth.
