Real-world assets (RWA) news shows tokenized asset holders now exceed 3.31 million as of early September 2026, doubling in 30 days. RWA.xyz data highlights tokenized equities and stocks as the main growth drivers, with Robinhood adding over 200,000 new token listings in weeks. Centrifuge reported most new holders joined in the past seven days.

The number of people holding tokenized real-world assets just crossed three million, roughly doubling in the span of a single month. For a sector that spent years trying to convince skeptics that putting bonds and equities on a blockchain was anything more than a parlor trick, that’s a notable inflection point.

Data from RWA.xyz shows approximately 3.31 million total asset holders as of early September 2026, representing growth of over 100% in just 30 days. Centrifuge, the Zug-based tokenization protocol, flagged the milestone this week, noting that many new holders joined in the past seven days alone.

Who’s actually driving the growth

Much of the recent surge has been fueled by the tokenization of equities and stocks rather than the Treasury products and credit instruments that dominated earlier waves of RWA adoption. Consumer-facing platforms, including Robinhood, have contributed to bringing in over 200,000 new holders within a few weeks.

Centrifuge itself accounts for a much smaller slice of the total holder base. The protocol currently supports roughly 1,293 holders across 9 assets, with a distributed value of $1.61 billion.

Centrifuge’s own trajectory

Despite its comparatively modest holder count, Centrifuge has been growing at a solid clip. The protocol’s holder base increased approximately 39.6% month-over-month, climbing from around 1,100 to its current 1,293.

Two products anchor most of the platform’s value. Janus Henderson’s JTRSY Treasuries product accounts for roughly $831M to $880M, while the firm’s JAAA CLO product represents approximately $703M to $715M. Together, those two offerings comprise the vast majority of Centrifuge’s total value locked.

That TVL figure sits near $1.6 billion currently, down from a peak of nearly $2 billion earlier this year.

Centrifuge’s CFG governance token has a separate and considerably larger holder base, estimated at 10,600 to 11,000 wallets. Those holders aren’t necessarily the same people interacting with the platform’s tokenized funds. Governance token holders and actual asset investors are two distinct populations with different motivations.
