Texas grid faces 164 GW power surge from AI developers, per Bitcoin.com. As of mid-2025, the ERCOT interconnection pipeline hit 226 GW, up from 63 GW in late 2024. Over 73% of the demand comes from AI-scale data centers, including 1-GW-class sites. Mid-November filings alone surpassed the total from 2022–2024. ERCOT says transmission and resource adequacy will dictate how fast these projects can go live. The generation queue now stands at 432 GW, with 77% from solar and storage.
