The growth came as the wider stablecoin market declined during the same period. Tether said USDT’s market share climbed above 60%, strengthening its position as the largest stablecoin by circulation.

The company attributed most quarterly earnings to its reserve portfolio. Tether said investments in short-term U.S. Treasuries, repurchase agreements and liquid government-backed assets generated the majority of operating profit.

Meanwhile, Tether reduced its secured lending exposure by approximately $2.38 billion, representing a 15% decline during the quarter. The company also said its user base expanded by more than 30 million users.

The Tether Q2 results also highlighted growth in the company’s physical gold reserves. Tether added 14 metric tons of gold during the quarter, increasing total holdings above 146 metric tons.

The company maintained that its reserve strategy remains focused on liquidity and asset coverage. Its reported assets exceeded liabilities by more than $4 billion at the end of the reporting period.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the results reflected the company’s focus on financial access and infrastructure development. He highlighted the firm’s liquidity position and global user base expansion.

The company also noted that its Big Four audit process continued during the quarter. The Tether Q2 report arrives as stablecoin issuers face increased attention around transparency, reserves and risk management.
