BlockBeats news, on June 16, stablecoin issuer Tether announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), with both parties exploring collaboration opportunities in tokenization, digital asset education, and blockchain applications.


DMCC is one of the world’s leading business hubs, home to over 26,000 companies and accounting for 15% of Dubai’s total foreign direct investment. Under the memorandum, Tether will provide specialized workshops, blockchain consulting services, and digital asset pilot projects to businesses within the DMCC network, while exploring ways to enhance the experience of DMCC community members through peer-to-peer digital payment systems. Tether will also support DMCC Crypto Centre’s knowledge-sharing and innovation initiatives, including co-hosting events and hackathons.


Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the UAE is actively promoting the integration of digital asset infrastructure into global markets and the real economy, and this partnership aims to accelerate the practical implementation of blockchain technology in tokenization and education.


Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC, noted that stablecoins have processed trillions of dollars in transaction volume, and tokenization is reshaping the way cross-border asset financing and transfers are conducted; Dubai is working to solidify its central position in the global digital economy by proactively establishing regulatory frameworks and infrastructure.
