According to ME News, on July 23 (UTC+8), monitoring by Beating revealed that Hu Han, head of multimodal understanding at Tencent’s Hunyuan, has submitted his resignation and is preparing to start a startup. Former OpenAI researcher Tian Yonglong will take over the development of vision-language models (VLMs) and continue reporting to Yao Shunyu. Hu Han joined Tencent from Microsoft Research Asia in early 2025.
