Tencent has open-sourced HuanYuan 3.0 (Hy3) under the Apache 2.0 license, removing restrictions on the EU, UK, and South Korea. The 295B-parameter MoE model now supports global use, with hallucination rates reduced from 12.5% to 5.4%. An FP8 version reduces memory requirements for local deployment. Altcoins to watch may see renewed interest as open interest in AI-driven tools increases.

According to Beating Monitoring, Tencent has officially released the full version of HunYuan 3.0 (Hy3), a 295B-parameter Mixture of Experts (MoE) model. The most critical change is the switch to the permissive Apache 2.0 open-source license, eliminating previous geographic restrictions that prohibited use in the EU, UK, and South Korea. When the preview version was launched in April, strict geographic limitations and a commercial usage threshold of 100 million monthly active users deterred many overseas and multinational teams. The full version removes all compliance barriers and includes substantial optimizations to address deployment challenges: it integrates fast-slow thinking mechanisms and incorporates a 3.8B-parameter Multi-Token Prediction (MTP) layer for parallel generation, significantly reducing inference latency. Through fine-grained data cleaning and training constraints, the hallucination rate has been reduced from 12.5% to 5.4%, and the error rate in multi-turn interaction tests has dropped from 17.4% to 7.9%. To address the persistent issue of tool usage drift in agent development, HunYuan 3.0 has been specifically strengthened: cross-framework tool call accuracy fluctuations are now kept within 4% across major scaffolding platforms such as Cline and CodeBuddy, ensuring more stable outputs. The officially released FP8 quantized version also lowers the VRAM requirements for local deployment and fine-tuning.
