Team Vision, a Serbian organization that didn’t even exist two years ago, has secured a spot in the grand final of The International 2026. A team formed in late 2024 is now one win away from lifting the Aegis of Champions, Dota 2’s most coveted trophy.
The squad locked in its grand final berth on August 22 after navigating the entire upper bracket of the double-elimination playoffs at TI 2026 in Shanghai. Their opponent for the best-of-five finale, scheduled for August 23 at 13:00 CST, is still to be determined from the lower bracket. Either way, Team Vision has already guaranteed themselves a top-3 finish at the most prestigious event in competitive Dota.
How they got here
TI 2026 is being held at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, running from August 13 to 23, with PGL producing and Valve overseeing its flagship tournament. Eight teams made the main event bracket, and Team Vision carved through the upper half.
Their playoff run started with a win over Team Resilience. Then came Team Falcons. The semifinal against Team Spirit, the 2021 TI champions, was the tightest match of the run. Team Vision took the series 2-1 on August 21.
Winning through the upper bracket also gives Team Vision a structural advantage. In the grand final’s best-of-five format, they’ll enter the match fresh, while their opponent will have clawed through the lower bracket to get there.
From formation to finals in under two years
Team Vision’s trajectory reads like a speedrun. The organization was founded in late 2024. Team Vision picked up a title at ESL One Raleigh 2025 and followed that with a strong showing at the Esports World Cup 2026.
The stakes
TI 2026’s prize pool exceeds $3.27 million. Winning TI defines careers, separating the great from the legendary in a game where competitive longevity is measured in Aegis lifts.
The opponent waiting for them in the lower bracket finals will have momentum on their side, having survived elimination matches to reach the grand final. That’s the tradeoff of the double-elimination format: the upper bracket team gets rest and map advantage, but the lower bracket team arrives battle-tested and warmed up.
