Taiwan Semiconductor and AI companies are set to invest $200 billion in the U.S., as confirmed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The initiative, driven by order demand, includes semiconductor manufacturers, supply chain partners, and AI server companies. The announcement was made during the opening of the SEMICON TAIWAN 2026 U.S. Pavilion. The U.S. Commerce Secretary had previously indicated potential investments of $200–300 billion. In May 2026, 20 companies had already committed $350 billion, with an additional $200 billion added in the following months. On-chain news continues to underscore major cross-border capital movements.

Huo Xing Finance reports that Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has confirmed that Taiwanese companies are adding $20 billion in investments in the United States. Minister of Economic Affairs Gong Mingxin stated that, in response to growing order demand, production capacity will be expanded in the U.S. alongside Taiwan’s primary manufacturing bases, primarily involving semiconductor manufacturers, supply chain partners, and AI server companies. Prior to this, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Lutnick indicated that Taiwan would announce $20 to $30 billion in new investments in the U.S. next week. The Ministry responded that this investment refers to the $20 billion in additional U.S. investments announced by Gong Mingxin on the 2nd during the opening of the U.S. Pavilion at SEMICON TAIWAN 2026. Gong noted that global demand for AI and semiconductors remains robust, with the SEMI Global President raising the projected global semiconductor revenue for 2030 from $1 trillion to $2 trillion. The Ministry’s review shows that as of May this year, 20 semiconductor and AI server-related companies had already announced $35 billion in U.S. investments, followed by an additional $20 billion in subsequent months. Future cooperation will also extend to industries such as biotechnology and natural gas.
