As reported by 528btc, Surf, an AI research and intelligence platform focused on digital assets, has completed a $15 million funding round led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Digital Currency Group. The San Francisco-based startup will use the funds to develop Surf 2.0, an advanced AI model tailored for cryptocurrency, and to expand its enterprise offerings. The platform, which positions itself as an alternative to general large language models, uses proprietary systems trained on digital asset data and native crypto datasets. It analyzes social sentiment, on-chain activity, token and market behavior, and delivers insights via a chat-style interface. Surf 2.0 will include enhanced models, expanded datasets, and new agents to automate multi-step workflows typically handled by experienced analysts. The enterprise version will feature dedicated infrastructure and security tools for institutional users. Since its July launch, Surf has achieved millions in annual recurring revenue, generated over 1 million research reports, and is used by 80% of top exchanges and research firms.
