Super Micro Computer reassured investors concerned about weakening AI demand on Wednesday.
Following SpaceX's strong earnings report, which sparked market enthusiasm, SMCI also helped boost AI trading as investors prepare for key financial updates from major tech companies.
This AI infrastructure company significantly raised its revenue guidance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 ahead of its earnings report scheduled for November 3, citing strong demand for AI. The company stated that revenue is expected to reach $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, up from its previous guidance of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.
SMCI's stock surged 15%, driving gains in several other tech stocks, with Dell and Hewlett Packard rising 5% and 3%, respectively.
CEO Charles Liang said: “As demand accelerates, we are enhancing profitability through a higher-quality enterprise customer base and broader adoption of our optimized Data Center Building Block Solutions® (DCBBS) architecture.”
This optimistic demand outlook emerges at a critical juncture for investors. Recently, confidence in AI-related trading has wavered as concerns have grown over when debt-funded data center expansions and massive capital expenditures by hyperscale cloud providers will yield returns.

Earlier this week, South Korean cloud infrastructure company Elice experienced a sharp decline on its first day of trading, triggering new volatility that spilled over into U.S. markets.
Wall Street analysts have recently emphasized the benefits of safe-haven assets as AI trading loses momentum. However, Super Micro Computer’s strong revenue, directly tied to expectations for AI demand, suggests that this market’s hottest trade may still have room to rise.
The company did not specify its major clients, but Chris Versace, Senior Portfolio Manager at TheStreet Pro, noted that SMCI serves some of the largest companies in the technology industry.
He said, “Given that Super Micro Computer’s key customers include Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, and CoreWeave, Super Micro’s beat and raised guidance indicate strong spending from these customers and others. This ripple effect is positive for AI and data center chip suppliers.”
Versace is not the only financial professional who believes this holds highly bullish implications for AI trading health.
David Morrison, Senior Market Analyst at Trade Nation, noted that SMCI’s upward revision of sales guidance is likely to serve as a bullish signal, though he added that SpaceX’s recently reported strong third-quarter results may also be reinvigorating AI trading.
“Does this mean that the sell-off in tech stocks, particularly chip stocks, since the beginning of this month is nearing its end?” he said. “Perhaps. There’s no doubt that earnings season has kicked off with another impressive start.”
