Mysten Labs, the developer of Sui, has launched an AI business division focused on agent trust and native AI infrastructure. Former CEO Evan Cheng will now serve as CTO, leading the AI + crypto initiative. President Kevin Boon assumes the role of CEO. The company plans to build products using Sui and Walrus to govern agent behavior and enable autonomous tasks. Mysten Labs has also partnered with Google Cloud to develop a Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), providing an evidence layer for enterprise AI agents. This move aligns with the growing on-chain AI activity in the space.

Huoxing Finance reports that on October 17, Evan Cheng, CEO of Mysten Labs, the development team behind Sui, announced that the company will officially establish an AI business division focused on developing agent trust products and native AI infrastructure. Concurrently, Kevin Boon, President of Mysten Labs, will assume the role of CEO, while Evan Cheng will transition to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and lead the new AI business division. Evan Cheng stated that as AI agents begin autonomously executing tasks such as trading, payments, negotiations, and code development, ensuring agents act within authorized boundaries, preventing unintended harm, and resolving liability issues among participating parties have become critical challenges for the industry. Mysten Labs plans to build related products on Sui and Walrus to help individuals and enterprises constrain agent behavior and enable agents to securely perform tasks without real-time human intervention. Additionally, Mysten Labs recently announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to develop a Verifiable Agent Arbiter (VAA), providing an evidence layer for enterprise AI agents through tamper-proof records to assist in resolving disputes in cross-organizational collaboration. Evan Cheng believes that AI agent-driven business activities hold tremendous potential, but trust mechanisms and incentive alignment remain the primary barriers to their scalable adoption.
