Stripe's Tempo Payments Blockchain Opens Public Testnet with Mastercard and UBS

Citing 528btc, Stripe and Paradigm's Tempo Payments blockchain has launched its public testnet, allowing anyone to build on the network. Major partners including Mastercard, UBS, and Klarna have joined, with Klarna planning to issue a stablecoin on the platform. The network, compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine, features payment-specific tools like guaranteed block space, low fees, and stablecoin-native gas. Tempo also announced Coastal Bank as a design partner, aiming to reshape modern banking infrastructure. The network currently uses four rotating validators operated by the team and plans to introduce independent validators ahead of the mainnet launch. A full rollout timeline has not yet been disclosed.
