In accordance with Coinotag, Stripe has acquired the team behind the Valora crypto wallet to enhance its blockchain initiatives, including the Tempo stablecoin project. The move integrates Valora’s expertise in mobile Web3 apps and stablecoins into Stripe’s global payments infrastructure, aiming to improve user access to digital assets. Valora’s app will continue to operate under Celo’s cLabs, ensuring continuity for users. This acquisition follows the launch of Stripe’s Tempo testnet, which reportedly has a $5 billion pre-launch valuation. Valora CEO Jackie Bona stated the team’s work on user-first experiences will contribute to Stripe’s platform scale. The integration is expected to streamline cross-border payments and reduce fees and settlement times.
